The universality of negative feelings about the financial aid process connects us all — current college students, alumnae, and especially college dropouts can understand the struggle.

That’s why a simple Twitter search for “financial aid” or “FAFSA®” will yield savage results. It didn’t take long for us to compile a giant list of brutal tweets about financial aid, and then we got a better idea.

The Frank team journeyed from our headquarters in Midtown Manhattan down to Washington Square Park, the bustling hub of New York University. The sun was out, the cameras were rolling, the tweets were mean, and the following was the result:
